I'm a sheetz employee, relatively new as I've only worked for the company for a few months. I hate this job.

Customers, you want to know why I might not always be chipper and perky whenever you come to the register? I'll tell you. In my roughly seventyish days working for this company, I have seen and dealt with a lot of major ***. I have been the only person at the register catering to the entire front end of the store when we have been so packed that we had a line the full length of our store.

And through all of this, I get mostly rude customers complaining about the wait, yelling at me because I haven't had time to make coffee, or blatantly cursing at me because something inconvenienced them. But that isn't the worst of it, no. Actually, the worst part is my store manager, a LOVELY woman (I mean this with all the sarcasm in the world). Listen, I don't EXPECT to be treated like garbage from the customers, but I do accept it as being in my job description, so it doesn't phase me much.

And for the most part, I love nearly all of my coworkers. But this manager.... there are a lot of unfriendly words to describe her. I put on my application I couldn't work certain days due to school.

I said so in my interview, the day I got hired, and a few other times throughout my time at sheetz. You know what this woman does? Schedules me for those days, twice now. And when I go to speak to her about the mistake so it could be fixed, this woman threatens to call corporate on me, all the while yelling at me about the schedule, then she spends the rest of the day essentially verbally harassing me.

FOR HER MISTAKE. I have not been rude, I've done nothing to deserve this, and yet it happens. To top it off, she tells me that the schedule is fixed, then calls me up the next day flipping out about my not being there, even though she told me I was in the clear. The first time this happened, I received points for a day I wasn't even supposed to work.

So you know what? I realize maybe sometimes you genuinely have problems with the store or we employees that you meet. But if you're going to *** on us for maybe just not being the most chipper and welcoming person around, keep in mind that this is the kind of *** we put up with. I've had people rudely throw their cash at me, curse me out, yell at me over their damned coffee, harass me about their food taking too long, and dump their drinks on my floor then waltz off without letting anyone know to clean it up.

You're mad because maybe your fries took a little too long? I'm mad because my manager is an ***, the customers are rude, and we are constantly understaffed so I have to do the work of two people with a time limit.

Reason of review: this is aweful.

Don't even bother with HR. They only involve themselves when it is to protect their corporate interests.

(Unless you have the right last name or have slept with someone with the right last name.)

Nepotism reigns at Sheetz and your situation is unlikely to improve for you. Best of luck to you though if you decide to tough it out.

Crazy, if true. You should probably transfer to another store or take this complaint to HR.

They'll do more to help you out than me here on pissedconsumer.com. Just my $0.02 :)

They donโ€™t care about their employees. Iโ€™ve been there for 11 years and get treated like crap.
