2 Days ago I headed out to Sheetz at about 1:00 am, 1:30 am in the morning. My friend and I were a little hungry and having nothing in the house and a Sheetz down the street didn't make things better. We figured we would go over, grab a MTO and a soda, and be on our way.

I ordered a Homestyle Crispy Chicken Sandwhich with diced onions and lettuce *something I rarely do*, and some donuts. It took them a while, despite the entire store being completely empty, to make our meals and we finally left after getting our food. I went home, ate it, and then went to bed.

During the night I woke up with terrible stomach pains and diarrhea. I vomited several times before I went back to bed. I figured it was nothing. Next morning, same thing. All day for two days I barely was able to leave the house. I had fatigue, headaches, and diarrhea.

Do not eat there.

Monetary Loss: $3.

Location: Chambersburg, Pennsylvania

I'm sorry but using the story of the new sheetz that opened really is not a good way to put it into perspective. New store usually means brand new employees and possibly managers, and not being used to that type of fast paced and stressful work environment can lead to mistakes.

But, the reason sheetz even has open kitchens (meaning, you are able to stand there and watch them make your food)is because they want you to feel comforted by the fact that you can see everything they do.

If someone sneezes, drops something, you can see the ingredients going on most of the times too. So, I have to agree with most others on here, and assume that this was caused by something eaten far prior to your visit to sheetz.

I dunno what's wrong with the other commenters, but I believe you. I have worked at 6 different Sheetz and managers constantly have to watch the employees because they like to fudge on the temp sheet and flipping the tables.

One day about a week after a new Sheetz opened, half the veggies were absolutely disgusting at the bottom of the container because no on gave a ***.

Also, it take days for parasitic food poisoning to take effect, but only hours for bacterial, viral, or toxic food poisoning to take effect. I don't believe it was the chicken, but if the veggies were out of code, it's very possible that's the cause.

I say this is BS. There is nothing in the food that you ate that would have made you sick.

You see, the proteins served at Sheetz are heated up, not cooked. The people that work there NEVER come in contact with or serve raw food. Its impossible.

Good job blaming the flu on Sheetz.

Also, not only would you have not gotten symptoms so fast, every other person who ordered a homestyle chicken would of gotten sick as well since all sheetz get the same product. Don't blame your sickness on the last place you ate.

Really? You got fly symptoms and blamed Sheetz for bad food? Sounds like the flu, to me, especially considering the headache and duration.

Sorry but I work in food service and have been thru many years of food safety training. You would not have gotten sick this fast from the Sheetz food.

Food poisoning takes approximately 2-3 days from the time you eat the tainted food for symptoms to appear. So more than likely it was something you ate day's before the Sheetz food.

I am not defending Sheetz but they were more than likely not your cause for illness.

Noticed your post & not knowing if complaints are legit or posted by one of their competitors, 3-things come to light. I personally know the folks at Sheetz are always concerned with quality and customer satisfaction as #1.

Which Sheetz store were you referring to as there are a great many in 6-states? Do you have the receipt reflecting reported purchase?

Did you call the corporate office customer service line at 800-487-****, and/or report the matter to their specific store manager? If you were indeed in the store between 1-1:30am their store's video can verify the transaction and sale, so if concern is accurate as stated, file a complaint with them, as they would want to know.
